About ROC Wheels
ROC Wheels
ROC Wheels (Reach Out & Care Wheels) is a faith-based non-profit 501(c)(3) that customizes wheelchairs and gait trainers to children who need them around the world. Moving a child off the ground and into a chair is a life-changing experience. They can now take part more fully in the life of their community. It literally raises their status and alters their future.
ROC Wheels works with in-country partners to identify children who need wheelchairs. We send a team of volunteers for a week or more to train local physical therapists on how to fit wheelchairs to children. The local partner then provides follow-up and support to the family as the child grows.
In Bozeman, Montana, ROC wheels offers opportunities for youth groups, veteran groups, people fulfilling court-ordered community services, and others to volunteer with them and enrich their lives. Volunteers help with wheelchair and gait trainer design, assembly, transportation and fitting to children. The experience changes everyone who takes part in the program.
